Mafra Up - Ideas Competition

Mafra Up - Ideas Competition, an initiative that rewards the most innovative ideas for revitalizing and enriching the business community in the main strategic development areas of the municipality of Mafra: Sea Economy, Tourism, Agri-food, Technology, and Sustainability.

This initiative by the Mafra City Council, implemented through its business incubator, the Business Factory, aims to recognize the innovation, dynamism, proactivity, and creativity of the population, with a view to facilitating the capture of business ideas and innovative entrepreneurial projects.

SBI Consulting is responsible for implementing and promoting the initiative, encompassing the entire concept creation, application management, selection, and invitation to the jury composed of municipal members, entrepreneurs, investors, and representatives of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, as well as the preparation and execution of the pitch session and awards ceremony.

After a mid-term jury session, the best ideas are evaluated based on specific criteria, such as their innovative and distinctive nature, the feasibility of the idea, its fit with the municipality's strategic development areas, and its potential impact on the region. Following a pitch session of the selected ideas, awards are given to the Best Startup and Best Entrepreneur.

In 2025, the Best Young Entrepreneur category was be introduced to encourage the creation and development of new business ideas among young people in the region.
