PayTech On-The-Go

Launched in 2023, PayTech On-The-Go is an initiative of NEST – Tourism Innovation Center in partnership with Mastercard, organized by Unicorn Factory Lisboa and Startup Lisboa. Its goal was to select up to 10 startups with innovative solutions capable of transforming the way people travel, innovating in the areas of payments and mobility, simplifying and improving payment experiences in the tourism sector.

SBI, aligned with the guidelines and values of the program's partners and promoters, was fully involved and responsible for its organization and implementation. This resulted in the creation of a valuable opportunity for Portuguese mobile payments startups and the increased innovation in this area within the Portuguese ecosystem, through the international participants who gained market access.

Participating startups had access to a seven-week program, beginning with a two-day bootcamp focused on tourism sector trends and visits with strategic players, followed by an acceleration phase exploring business and technology development challenges. In the final stage, they presented their developed solutions to a jury during Demo Day, competing for a €10,000 prize and the opportunity to continue developing their projects with the support of Startup Lisboa.

Also during the program, they benefited from mentoring sessions with program partners and experts, as well as support for project validation in the market.
